Cliff Hangers Pt-3

I found a small hole, near a huge tree, which looked safe and warm. It was only a bit bigger than me, and I had to squeeze in a little to fit in. I covered this hole with heather and moss I found nearby, and I also managed to catch another rabbit. I crept in my hole, thinking that I had been through too much to go to sleep, but in 30 seconds flat, I was snoring like pig

I woke up late into the day to the sound of stampeding and roaring. I slowly peeped out my hole, and I was shocked at what I saw. Thousands upon thousands of Raptilours, were galloping and shrieking, chasing a huge Trilephant, who had a look of fear on it's face and at the same time, an air of confidence, defiantly refusing the fact that the ugly creatures chasing it were going to catch it. I was impressed at the gentle beast's bravery. As much as I wanted to help the beast, I knew that I would get myself killed, as Raptilours were a force to be reckoned with, especially with their formidable speed and teeth which could bite through DIAMONDS, let alone bones.

I silently leapt out of my hole, grabbed my sword and continued, down the woods. I knew that I was really close to the deepest part of the wood, partly because of the purple thorns which were now common in the area, but also the types of creatures who settled in the darker parts of the forest. Scrag-tails, Charged SlimeMakers, the even more dangerous cousins of the MudMaker, and the Dark Ones, which scared me the most. The Dark Ones were shapeless forms of darkness, which enter your brains and fill you with terrible nightmares, and soon you would die of pure madness. They couldn't physically attack you, but dying  from the wrath of a Dark One was the worst way to die. The only way to defend yourself from a Dark One was to point pure light at it and burn it to death. I held my Amulet of Lightening, tightly in my hand and ducked away from the poisonous Purple Thorns. I kept seeing the eyes, the blinking, sinister eyes. I had no idea what I would do after I get the Potion. Will I be taken back by its powers? Or would I have to travel ALL the way back again? It's been around 3 weeks now, and I couldn't survive here for much longer. As I was immersed in my own thoughts, I didn't here the slight hissing behind me, the slight change in movement, and the stench of pure darkness and death. It was only when it touched my spine, I fell to the ground writhing and screaming as I felt my excruciating pain on my spine, and then I saw it... It was a Dark One.

I tried to point my amulet at it, but I was in so much pain that I just dropped it. I looked at it with, and I saw it getting closer, and closer trying to enter my brain. "NO!!!!!" I screamed. I stopped, stared at me for a moment and then continued to enter me. The cold chill in my spine was the last thing I felt, until I blacked out.

It was then the nightmares started......
