The sun stands alone in the sky, the yellow beacon of summer unassuming of the horrors it may shine upon. Two bodies are carried away, their veins now empty of life, their last thoughts frozen in the synapses of their brains. Slung unceremoniously into the back of a Range Rover, they are taken on one last procession through town, the insultful funeral march unknown to the people they pass. The public continue their normal routine unmoved, unaffected, enjoying the brokered peace a little while longer. Their deaths are as yet unknown, their discovery will be gruesome. The consequences will be dire.

Richie Parker has turned 18. he is alone in the world. Ten months ago his parents died in an unfortunate car accident, but the truth is so much darker. To add to his woes he loses his one true love, Kim Sutton, due in no small part to her father Steven. Along with Police Chief Thomas Kline, the two men have conspired to ruin Richie's life all because of long standing family feuds.

Corruption, promsicurity, suicide and murder surround the people in Chapham and soon everyone will pay.
