This is all just an illusion,
A reality controlled,
We're all just puppets for their amusement,
Our lives taken by force, we weren't even cajoled.

For moments we seem to be free,
Just glimpses at a way we could live,
Moments at life the way it should be,
But living is a crime they can't forgive.

Removed for speaking your thoughts,
Taken away from all you had,
If only you hadn't been caught,
Maybe things wouldn't have been so bad.

But you triggered a domino affect,
I've had to grow up without your affection,
Instead I've dealt with much neglect,
In this world of flawed perfection.
