My pathetic attempt at poetry. Depending on how this goes I may or may not continue writing poems.

Living your life through the eyes of others

Never caring for us

You broke and crushed the heart of your mother

You left her in the dust

You gossiped, you shopped, you followed trends

Preoccupied with boys

You always believed that time would mend

Your unsuccessful ploys

You never took the time to think

Of anyone but you

The ship that sailed must now sink

Into the ocean blue

You valued the opinion of a stranger

Over those who loved you

You put yourself in such grave danger

And now, we don’t want you

You’ve brought your family to the edge

We can’t take anymore

Your solemn vow you always pledged

Your love became a chore

Believe me when I tell you this

Believe me when I say

That everything was all your fault.

You’ll never get your way.
