This is one of my most frequent dreams. Always the same cathedral, the same story, the same place and the same girl, who, after I dreamed it couple of times, I named Selena. I never told anyone about this.

So here we are, Selena and I, in the old cathedral, hunting that thing. We don't know much about, but we know what it’s up to and how evil it is. Let me say more about us before I take you deeper into this.

We were born in the remains of the United Kingdom. Both of us lost our families and now we find comfort in each other’s darkness. After you lose everything you cared of, you stop caring about yourself and everything else, but since we are together, looking after each other, it stopped. I started caring again, and I am glad I did. There were many situations that were very dangerous and I would definitely end my misery with them, but Selena was there to hold on to, and I am glad she was.

Much has changed in a very short period. They say that the Christian God got sick of the man kind and its illness, so he decided to destroy it. Others say that God is testing us once again, and that only the few of the chosen ones will survive this war. The war… This wasn’t just a regular war, the angels, the saints against humans. The first attacks began at the summer of the year 2008, and at first, the man kind was losing and its numbers were cut down seriously, but as soon as we stopped being scared and decided to fight back the odds got even. So the God called on the worst possible ally he could, the Devil.

One day, in a fierce battle, all the angels and saints retreated and flaming stones started falling from the sky, followed by the rain of magma. It whipped out most of the bigger resistance centers. After that battle, Devil’s warriors, the worst of them all, started terrorizing and destroying what was left of us. The Devil himself came to our real, United Kingdom to be more precise, to make sure he completes his part of the deal with the God.

Selena and I have been hunting It for five years, and we’ve finally found where he hides. No, the Devil isn’t super strong, but he is a worthy opponent in battle. He rather fights with his intelligence and power to make you believe in anything. He is more than three meters tall, has two long horns, long black beard and hair. Instead of fingers, he has claws, and his legs are like the goat’s.

It is in the Cathedral, probably waiting for us. For the one final time we made sure our guns are loaded and ready, and grenades up to a good number.

“It’s time! Are you ready?” – I said.

Selena just looked at me, with the yes in her eyes and hearth.

I took my gun in my hands, and slammed the huge cathedral doors with my leg. After the doors opened and we entered the once holly place to us, we saw that it changed a bit. Instead of a shrine, we saw a big throne chair at the far end of it and the Devil sitting in it. Holding his sword in one hand, and a black book with a snake symbol in his other hand. After we made couple steps away from the doors, it got shut suddenly. With each next step closer to It, my hearth pounded stronger and I could of felt more fear. What I did is grabbed Selena’s hand, pulled her towards the doors and threw her out. In shock she didn’t say anything anthill it was too late. I slammed the doors and blocked them.

I’ve proceeded towards the Devil with the smile on my face, because the fear was gone. He made a shocked facial expression, and stood up, threw the book in the corner and started speaking something I could not understand. My gun was already pointed in Its direction; I started shooting at him, aiming for the head. With each bullet I sent at Its way, I saw a face of my dead family member, getting shot and killed by my own bullet. He was playing with my mind and it was getting unbearable. I threw couple of grenades at him, but even when they explode, he doesn’t get hurt. I got enough of it, let’s see how long he can tolerate by silver blade.

I took by blade, long and shiny, and charged at the thing. I could hear Selena knocking on the doors, trying to break them, but I’ve ignored it. Then suddenly, in front of my, my family appeared again. They were holding each other’s hand, all three of them, standing in my way. My wife was reaching her hand for me, like she wanted to take me with them. I walked closer to them, let my wife put her hand on my shoulder, looked at them, knowing they are not real, trying to snap out of it. When I finally did, I pushed her off, and continued to finish what I came for.

I guess I got to close to the Devil, when he hit me in chest with his fist and knocked me out for couple of seconds. I opened my eyes at the other end of the room, in time to see that the Devil is just two feet away from me, getting ready to harvest my soul. Luckily, my blade was still in my hand, I jumped as high as I could, grabbed the beast’s horn and stabbed it between the eyes. In just few moments It turned into ashes.

Selena finally broke the doors, found me lying on the floor, furious and happy at the same time. We made it, our quest is completed. God alone will not be a strong opponent and it is just a matter of time when we will completely defeat his sacred army, if he dares to send it. I wonder what people will believe in after this is done. I know what I believe in, my blade and Selena’s love.
