A poem about moving forward. The "monsters" mentioned in the narrative represent the fears of moving away from home and starting a new life. The "voodoo doll" represents cutting away all the baggage of your previous life, even though it may be painful.

My life is forfeit,

The monsters are chasing me,

And biting at my heels,

They scare me,

I don’t like the monsters.

Watch out for the monsters,

They come to drink your soul,

And lap up your blood,

They come for all the sinners,

‘Cause you’ve been a bad, bad boy.

I hold the voodoo doll to my chest,

And pray to God not to let,

The monsters consume my soul,

I stick the needle in its eye,

Knowing that this will end in a tragedy I cannot reverse.

My life is forfeit,

Don’t let the monsters take me.
