Let my pen speak loudly,
I’ve got to say something,
Please look at the world around you,
And tell me if you see something,
The world around us isn’t in the best of shape,
Kids with guns and taking all kinds of drugs,
Dads molesting their sons and daughters,
And beats their wives to a senseless nothing,
Gang-bangers raping and murdering,
Right in the middle of the street,
A poet’s words are the only things,
That makes sense anymore,
We’ve got schools trying to “educate,”
And make us perfect members of society,
We’ve got the T.V. telling us,
“It’s okay to be unique,”
“As long as you’re wearing this and listening to that,”
F*** THAT! Why don’t you show us what you really are?
Just an ignorant puppet on society’s leash,
All because you want to fit in,
I tell you now, save yourself from all the mannequin looks,
Jump off the assembly line and break out of the factory,
Cut your own path, be who YOU want to be,
Take a risk, take back your mind,
Say something you know they’ll exorcise you for,
Because I’m sick of having my ideas being pushed away,
All because it doesn’t go along with what’s trendy today,
Well I’ll gladly take anything you can throw at me,
Because I am my own person and I won’t give in,
To all the brand names and false artists,
Who think they’re the leaders of a new world,
Follow me if you want to live without a collar,
Have faith and we’ll make it through,
The world is ours and nobody else’s,
I pray to GOD to give me the strength,
To do his work and to fulfill his purpose,
I’m thank Him for everything,
Because without Him I’m nothing,
With out Him guiding my hand,
These words would never make it to paper,
This world will never take me alive,
They may take the pen from my hand,
But there will always be one in my heart,
That writes on and on with no end forthcoming,
I keep on running towards the wildfire horizon,
Until I see my LORD face to face,
Until then expect to hear from me again,
I’m not done talking and I’ve got plenty to say,
Sorry if I offended you, but I really don’t care,
I’ve lived bound and gagged for far too long,
It’s time for me to stand up and speak my mind,
Stop the world, I’m getting on.
(I once dreamt that I had disappeared)
(And that no one cared)
(No one wept, no one wondered where I was)
(I’m afraid that all I’m leaving behind is pain)
(So please don’t remember me for this)
(I’m not trying to change the world)
(I’m just trying to leave behind a reason to be missed)
(Don’t remember me for the hurt)
(Remember me)
(For my)
(WORDS)
