Hanging Shoes

There's a pair of shoes hanging from the neighborhood's electric wires.
Some kid lit them on fire and threw them up there.
I knew that kid.
Red all over, but always with a hint of blue.
I asked:
-What is it boy?
-Why do you stand against the wind without shoes?
He just pointed his finger to the sky and its eyes turned black.
It's ears fell off and it's nose melted.
The blond hair that covered his face, was now gray and felt like hay in a hot summer morning.
Fire engulfed the kid, while we were standing together in the middle of the village and everyone gathered around, to see that spectacular sight.
Ah, the dreams i have about that night.
In all this antithesis of emotions, i remember noticing that the kid's eyes were unhindered by the flames and it's smile was undisturbed.
I gazed in it's eyes as the flames grew.
What i saw, is of no importance.
What i understood, will not help you.
What he told me, will only disturb you.
So please, go back to sleep.

''This can all go away.'' i cried to the kid.
''Yes. Yes it can.'' it responded with that smile on it's face.
''Do you want it to go away though?'' it asked me.
''Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!'' I said four times, once for each mistake i've made.
''Then start climbing.'' is what the kid told me, pointing to the sky once more.
