Let’s spend this evening by ourselves

being sincerely sad, like people used to be before

looking into the unrealness of the fire in the fireplace

looking in it and pretending to see something more

Let’s spend the evening by ourselves

feeling pain and tiredness in our legs

for we are really tired of everything

lay down, no pressure, no bones, no rags

Let’s spend the evening by ourselves

i’m tired of your eyes, of talking about them

you’re tired of my talks too, i know, i really do

you’ll drink a glass of wine, reading poetry now and then

Let’s spend the evening by ourselves

i want to listen to the scratching of the needle

spinning on the old Tom Waits’ vynil record

no sound, no sense or new riddle

Let’s spend the evening by ourselves

enjoy your solitude, as i enjoy mine

enjoy every second of it, every breath of freedom

enjoy as long as you got your time
