Standing at the door
A thousand thoughts go through my mind
Though I can't think of one thing to say
I walk away without you knowing I was ever there

Again I pick up the nerve
And head back to the door
My bones are trembling, my stomach is filled with butterflies
Again I walk away.

I retreat back to the sidewalk
Not knowing what to do
Am I worried you won't want to see me?
Or am I worried I won't know what to say?
My mind is crowded, Yet so blank.

As I walk back toward the door
My palms begin to sweat
My mouth becomes dry
For I know this time I will knock, and I do
As the door opens I see her face
And she smiles
