I wrote this for my amazing brother. He means the world to me and I'm a bitch to him at the best of times! So now I'd just like to take the chance to change all of that...

It’s funny.

I spent my whole life hating you, arguing with you, hurting you and misleading you but you never turned away. You stayed by my side over every stupid, irrational thing I did, no matter how much it pained you to do so.

Only now have I begun the see this.

It’s taken me a long decade to realise how much you mean to me and now I finally have, I’m having to say goodbye.

I’m not ready to lose you.

I’m not ready to leave you.

I couldn’t ask for anyone more inspiring and understanding to have guided me along but now I have to go it alone.

I won’t be able to take your open arms when a boy hurts me or when I don’t know what to do or what to say anymore. You can say that none of that will happen but you told me not to be naive so I won’t be naive now.

You were the most amazing, most wonderful brother I could have ever dreamed of. I can’t help but cry now I have to let you go.

However after all the selfless things you have done for me I feel it is the only way I can truly say thank you.

I have to face the world alone now, without your hands there to guide me through it. I can start laying my own bricks now, no matter how little I want to.

I love you.

I will miss you every second you aren’t with me.

Goodbye...
