Staring at the bright-lit stars Like glitter spilled across the sky As a shadow flashes over them A snake shaped figure slinking by. My mind is blank as I watch the dragon Though there's not much that I could think As it swirls and blends into the background As if drenched in onyx ink. The thing seems to be getting further But I still see the flames in its eyes Its scales resemble shattered glass As through the night it swiftly flies. Then I woke, and my lungs were on fire. Every night I have that dream. And though you may think that I'm a liar, The serpent lives inside of me.
