UNEXPECTED FRIENDSHIP PT 1

Your life can change in an instant they say. I’ve always wanted to know if that was even true.

“Ms. Lowe,” Mr. Gomez called on me. “Huh?” I wondered as I ended up snapping back into reality. “Would you tell the class what an opened ended question is?” Mr. Gomez challenged me. He always tends to call on the students who don’t really pay attention in class. So usually he calls on at least half the students that don’t pay attention. He looked right at me. “Ms. Lowe we are waiting,” Mr. Gomez said still looking at me.

Right when I was about to say something, that probably would be the wrong answer, the bell had rung. As usual everyone was racing towards the door to leave class. So I didn’t even bother to get myself knocked onto the ground.

“Ms. Lowe may I see you for a moment?” Mr. Gomez said. It’s a good thing everyone left or else, I would have an audience staring at me giving me heat for being called on. I went up to his desk as I was told.

“Ms. Lowe I need your parents to sign this so that way they know you’re failing,” Mr. Gomez said. “Failing,” I repeated what he had said. “Ms. Lowe have you ever thought of getting tutored in English?” He asked me. “Mr. Gomez I don’t get tutored. I normally tutor people,” I told him straight up. “Maybe in science and social studies but I think you should consider getting tutored in English,” Mr. Gomez advised. “But Mr. Gomez,” I was about to say. He then put his coffee mug on his desk after taking a sip then handed me a pamphlet on students getting tutored in English. “Have your parent’s sign that paper then show them that pamphlet. Then give them this number,” He said handing me a piece of paper. I sighed a loud sigh. “Ms. Lowe I’m serious,” He said in a demanding tone. “But,” I tried to say but he interrupted. “Just take it. It won’t kill you to get tutored,” He said. “Fine!” I expressed.

I then turned around to head out of his classroom. I was very thankful that Thanksgiving was next week. I need a break. Although if you ask me I think we need to start our break now.

“Hey Sophia,” I heard my name being called from behind me. I turned around and saw that it was Kesha Willis. “Oh hi Kesha,” I said surprised that it was her behind me.

Kesha is the most badass girl of Academy High. She had tattoos all over her arms and legs. Not too many girls wanted to be her friend considering she practically scares the crap out of everyone. Even the principal and he’s hard to scare. Especially since he is a bold headed guy with the appearance of a security guard. If you ask me I think he’s got the wrong job. But most people seem to feel safer that he’s the principal and not principal Wexler. Principal Wexler used to be the head principal of Academy High. However he passed away on the fact that he was 86 years old.

I turned around and started to head to the gym considering that’s where my next class was.

“Wait,” She said shutting her locker door. She walked up to me. “So um where are you headed?” She asked. “To gym,” I said. “Same here,” She said as the two of us started to walk together.

“Hustle to class ladies you’re already fifteen minutes late to class,” Mr. Leonard said looking at his watch. “Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Kesha said ignoring him. I almost laughed. “So Sophia I was wondering would you want to come over to my house? We could hang out,” She asked. “Um sure,” I said unsure of myself.

What was I saying? It’s Kesha Willis. You know a total badass. Why would she make friends with me? “Great, well I can’t wait,” She said. “Awesome!” I said a little too eagerly. What have I done?
