Eyes are droopy

So sleepy

How to sleep in a world

That is filled with wars

Hatred

And prejudice is beyong my understanding

About to close my eyes

All I see is darkness

Will the world be as dark

As the vision I see

When I close my eyes?

Will it get better

Or worse?

I think of these things

Before I sleep

It keeps me awake

Every night

Every mornings

And at dawn

When I see the sun

I wonder who is in

The land of hatred

Filled with guns

Bombs

Bullets

Fear

And despair

I am only one person

Can one

Just one

Make a difference someday?

So long as they are

People who hate

And judge

And are filled with greed

I won't sleep right

I won't rest tonight

But I guess

We need to live

Through wars

And harsh times

To be stronger

But how is it worth

All the pain

And suffering

And death

On those who believe

In a cause

That might never come true

That I wonder

In this lonely night

Still

We need to see good

To have hope

For this world

There's still good

No matter how small

Of a fraction it is

And it's worth fighting for

And dying for

And it's worth living through it

So, I might be one person

But I can affect people

Change them

For the better

And they affect others

And they others

And the process continues

And handed down

Will we see more wars

And deaths

And hatred?

Absolutely

Will we see peace in this lifetime?

Not likely.

Maybe never

But the thought of good

In this world

Inspires me

Drives me

Motivates me

To do better

To make this world

Better than before

And upon thinking this

I smile and drift to sleep

Into a slumber of an image

Filled with love

Happiness

And peace
