- Some Wounds Don't Heal -

I stood there so helpless, what could I do?

So young were their ages, so tender their hearts, seeing the pain in their eyes, it tore me apart.

She left without warning while the kids were in school, thinking it would be easier that way, but easier for who?

No hugs, no kisses, not even goodbye, as my children came home I just stood there and cried.

Why Daddy? Why did she leave? Does she not love us? Did we do something wrong? Why did she leave us? Will she ever come home?

How can I answer them? What do I say? There's no explanation for what she did to them that day.

I just stood there and held them, feeling their pain, it's daddy's job to make everything better, but on that day I failed.

Some wounds heal slowly, and some leave scars, but some last a lifetime and dwell in our hearts.

Years have now passed, and our lives go on, but the wounds that they suffered will never be gone and will forever cause pain.
