just something i came up with one day when i couldn't feel my fingers.

like seasons

little frozen, melting lice

crawling in and out of strands

pushed by wind on empty sidewalk

winter lingers like cigarette smoke

clings to bushes helplessly

holding on for dear life

stupid infant of the seasons

summer's so quick to depart

sweltering heat and bees

and spring seems to be

another cruel joke from god

heaven on earth for only a few weeks

fall chokes on it's own beauty

then stumbles into death

lets the cold of winter ruin its body

and here we are

winter and i

both inhabiting the sidewalk

secretly hating one another
