Not from experience. But a work I am particularly proud of. Inspired by a documentary I saw.

Entrapped in the confines of twisted thought
A claustrophobic existence
Incarcerated in a kind of half life
A thick mist blurs reality and nightmare
Distorted gargoyle faces peering
Taunting me ridiculing sneering
Long knotted fingers gripping my ankles
Tendrils snaking up round my limbs
The binding, restraining hold, tightening
Hot breath burning on the nape of my neck
Strange voices sing haunting lullabies
As I’m falling into dark dreamless sleep
This is what it’s like
To live in fear of a hostile world
Seen with a tortured mind
