The day I ran away from home I meet my idol Ville Valo. There wasn't anything wrong at home I just had to leave all that was familiar behind me for a while. It was a weird need of mine as much a necessity as breathing.
It was around ten at night when I felt the restlessness settle over me. Getting out my backpack I packed, two pairs of the same jeans, (that way I could wear the same pair for a couple of days at a time) three shirts along with two pairs of socks and underwear. I then firmly tied up my tennis shoes and brushed my hair before scrawling
"Insomnia has come to haunt me again; I'll be gone for a while." She then shouldered on her backpack and quietly walked out of her home, telling none of her family that she was leaving. Many girls would be too frightened or attached to their family to leave home. But Mena wasn't just any normal young lady to begin with. Oh she had normal hobbies such as drawing or painting. Though she had no religion she belonged to Mena enjoyed studying spiritual things.
Mena wandered the countryside going back to her old haunts.
It was around ten pm when she checked into a motel. Showering and getting dressed for bed Mena went outside and settled herself a top a random van. Why she did this? So that she could gaze up at the stars. The night was warm without being humid. Perfect for dozing and so this is what she did. An hour passed when suddenly but quietly a man's deep accented voice asked
"What are you doing on our van?" Mena looked over to see a tall man barely seeable in the darkness.
"Looking at the stars." She replied with a shrug. The man was quiet and when the lady looked over, he was gone. She sighed; he was probably going to call the police soon. But even with the thought of police Mena felt too relaxed to want to get up and go.
Fifteen minutes passed and this time Mena heard the man's footsteps coming. She looked over to see he had a big fluffy comforter folded in his arms.
"Thought we would be more comfortable with a blanket." He said as way of explanation before easily climbing onto the roof of the van.
"You didn't call the police?" she asked surprised moving to the side so that he could spread the blanket out. The man shook his head
"I'll be naïve and say you're a safe nice lady." He said as the two of them lay down beside each other. Mena smiled her sky blue eyes sparkling with amusement. Both knew Ville could easily overpower her if he chose to do so.
"Then I'll presume the same of you and while I presume that, what's your name?" Mena asked studying his very handsome face as she spoke.
"I'm Ville and you?" he asked studying her in return letting Mena see the pretty sage green color of his eyes.
"Mena" she replied before gazing back up at the sky. Ville did the same and the two were quiet for a time, gradually growing more comfortable. "Doesn't the sky look like a blanket? A big unending blanket?" Mena asked not really caring if he answered or not. So it was nice when he did
"It does seem like that, it makes you feel small and insignificant." Ville replied. Mena pondered this for a bit and nodded
"Very true like nothing you do is all that much of a big deal." She said. And once again Ville was silent and before she realized it he leaned over and kissed her cheek. It was only a peck but his lips left a warm imprint of themselves behind.
"What did you do that for?" Mena asked embarrassed.
"You said nothing is that much of a big deal." Ville answered with a shrug. The lady blushed before she leaned over and gave Ville a lingering kiss on the mouth. When she broke away he smiled and easily captured her hand in his.
"If nothing is a big deal may I lay closer?" she asked to which he nodded. So Mena snuggled up to Ville's side.
"Goodnight Mena." Ville murmured giving her hand a squeeze.
"Night Ville." Mena whispered back feeling at long last her restlessness within disappear.
