Through out the last few years of my life,, no one knows of my past history people just said his clothes stink of whiskey and gin and his breath smells like a distillery,, but no one knows of my misery. There was no one there on that day I walked out of town with my coller buttoned down with buttons shining so bright like the stars on a cold frosty night. I joined up to fight and defend the land of my father's and past generations so people could walk hand in hand. As we reached the battlefield I noticed that the birds had Stoped singing and now the sound of young men screaming in pain was in my ears. We marched towards the enemy,, I spotted one young man laying in a pool of blood but not quite dead, but I saw his dreams disiperring out of a bullet hole in his head. People Now call me a coward and yellow belly but how can anyone know the pain I went through when my legs turned to jelly as a bullet hit me in the back. They had it in their heads I was running away but no one be leaves me when I say was surrounded. I was promised a hero's home coming but no flags or buntings for me,, just fingers of suspicion pointing at me. I had no one to talk to just empty bottles to keep me company maybe life jackets to keep me afloat on a sea of despair. And now I believe I would be better off dead so now as I put down my pen and reach out for my gun. I end my nightmares and release my dreams with a bullet to my head.
