I celebrate myself; I take in all the breath in my lungs
To shout "HERE I AM!"
I celebrate my flaws, my imperfections.
They create ME.
I am beautiful in my own skin.
I am not done growing; I still have many more mistakes
To make, I still have many more roads to take.
I am singing this song to me, all the wrong notes that I
Hit, they will lull me to a peaceful serenity because
I am OKAY with being imperfect. I will stand in the sun,
I will surpass in my own rapture.
I am young drenched in, bliss and naivety.
I am content because I laugh, I play, I discover.
Do you not like this song; do you not like this beat?
I am sorry, but you don't have to.
This song is not for you, but you are welcome to sing a long,
To love the me that I am learning
To love, and I will sing along for you when
You are free in your own skin too.
