Because I was meant to be,
To breathe and see the stars,
And shine like dew on flowers
In the morn, I shall not mind
To die one day and lay myself
To dust and death. I’ll let you
Know what’s far below or
Up where the sun never sets
To sleep its night of shadow-black.
And where the angels dance
And drink the milk of jolly clouds.
No more doubts about my dreams.
I shall see when it begins, that
Journey to what we all know, yet
We don’t go, for it would be a sin
To leave our bed and floor to thus
Adore the earthly wine and lust
From far away and say that
It was best to be alive and strive
For goals that drove us down
To the devil’s ground, to pain.
Because I was meant to be,
To breathe and wish upon the moon
To take away the hurt, the gloom
And see all that I have to see,
I shall not mind to die one day
And lay myself to dust and death
And have a better view on life.
