I.
The sun’s red wings
Were black with dust
That weakest twig
Held all my trust

II.
And I was dead
And feared the end
Would come and take
My death-cold hand

III.
My diamond dreams
Told me a tale
A wondrous lady
Sweet and pale

IV.
Walked up some hill
Of moonlit moss
She prayed for life
And paid with loss

V.
Her song once heard
A new life’s light
Did shine on her
In the darkest night

VI.
I cried and said
That light I need
And I can plant
My new life’s seed

VII.
The sun’s red wings
Did flash their hope
And sent to me
Their golden rope

VIII.
So for some time
The night will sleep
And I shall climb
That green hill steep
