it's a poem I wrote a couple of weeks ago, but since then I've revised it many times. I'm still not very keen on it, but I think this will remain the final version.

Die tonight and be undead!
In the darkest shelter of the forest
I ran to find the pieces of my heart.
Die tonight and be undead!
Their call was near, I felt the chill,
I heard the whispers close to me.
I ran to find some hope in nowhere,
Followed the moon, the home of the child,
And found instead a beast of stone.
He was the hill, the spine of the earth.
He was clad in iron and moss.
He turned to me and mocked, “Sweet maid,”
“Are we still alive?”
Die tonight and be undead!
The demons urged, they tamed my veins,
My powers let me down again.
Die tonight and be undead!
Their words sang passion to my ears.
I thought they loved to watch me die.
Die tonight and be undead!
It was the end, the devil came,
And empty was the lake.
The birds were still, they were so still,
The twigs all broken and there hung,
From the darkened branches hung,
The pieces of my heart.
