A A A

This isn’t an “advice” poem.

This is not your self-help mantra.

This is just a bunch of words scrawled across a page.

Don’t expect to learn a big life-lesson as you read these words.

I’m not here to help you.

And no one else is, either.

You are on your own.

Solo.

I see you sitting around,

Wishing for someone to come make you smile.

You’re feeling sorry for yourself,

Being lazy, lifeless, selfish sap.

Well, kid, let me tell you something;

Waiting for other people to make you happy

Is the best way to feel sad.

We all have people who can make us feel good for a while,

But in the end,

In the bitter, honest end,

The only person who can make you feel amazing

Is yourself.

You are on your own.

Solo.

Stop waiting for someone to give you happiness.

Go make your own.

This isn’t an advice poem.

This isn’t a self-help mantra.

This is just a bunch of words, scrawled across a page.
