Its mangy paws were filthy with grime,

Its claws as sharp as knives,

Matted with gristly slime,

Dripping with long lost lives.

Its yawning maw was great and broad,

Each tooth a razor fang,

No part was left unflawed.

Its roar with malice rang.

Its eyes were pinpricks of light,

Piercing through the deep gloom,

Endless and dark as night,

Watching from its vast tomb.
