Eyes wet with tears
Nothing to calm the fears
Did the dark drive out the light
Or does nothing shine as bright
Yet in all this pain
A golden heart shines
Is it in vain
Helping those who can’t
Or even wouldn’t given the chance
She wipes the tears away
Hope comes to stay
No more blood mingled with tears
A helping hand through the years
Time will always pass
Will love or pain last
Trust was lost then repaired
By one woman who’s impaired
Hope is lost and then regained
By one who may never hear again

While you look down on those unlike you
They might look down on you too
While she fears for her own life
She finds love in all chaos and strife
Hopeful care from a heart that’s true
Love from a burdened soul to you
A weeping willow among the roses
Slumped shoulders in an expanse of poses
She’s like a rose in a concrete jungle
Red, in all the gray
A sunflower’s dark center
That seems to brighten up the day
The one that’s pure yet different
Alike yet not the same
The world is not in balance
But who is there to blame

Living life to its potential
Helping others make it full
Endeavors may be fruitless
But somehow, she gets through
Music in the making
Poetry, in motion
Like graceful strides
Her goal never dies
Contrasting with the rest
She tries to bring out the best
In all, near or far
Not a soul shall she scar
Yes, she makes mistakes
But fixes them with grace
Yes, she’s human too
As much as me or you

Why, might I ask
Must love be in contrast
To what goes on constantly
In our lives, while we flee
Rays of sun still shine
Stars still dominate the night sky
Twinkle, full of love
Shine, from up above
Hope, from down below
Care, freely as the tides flow
While you gossip in contempt
She smiles with content
In your mind a violent storm rages
In hers, a breeze flutters the pages
Of the story of her life
Which through all pain and strife
Is coming to an end
Slowly, yet to soon
There’s no time to lose
Help others to the right track
Even the ones who linger, at the back
Eyes wet with tears
Nothing to calm the fears
Did the dark drive out the light
Or does nothing shine as bright
Yet in all this pain
A golden heart shines
Is it in vain
