I know a girl - That girl was me

I know a girl

As bright as can be

Just another name in the crowd

She is scared and broken

Hurting inside

She would much rather cower and hide

Twisted and fallen

Lost to her world

In her past, she was hurt

Its not unusual,

For her to cry herself to sleep

Hours passing, as tears roll, long she may weep

A scared little girl

Well you should see

Confused and hurting, lost is she

Look around, and you might see

She sits there laughing, talking,

Maybe silently working

She is there

Maybe not with scared wrists

Just with heaps, and worries in lists

Look around,

You may know her well

But even so you might never tell

So think for a second

When you look her way

Is she really the girl that she tries to play

I know a girl

That girl was me
