As we grow older time speeds up.
Moments we once took for granted are now treasured.

So my dear..hold those memories near.

I stare, uncomprehending these hands of time

*  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *

Reading each crevasse of worry

Compulsively smoothing every line

*  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *

I search, remembering each story...

*  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *

Holding mom tight the first day of school

A small scar remains from a roller skate fall

Clutched tightly at ten and two as I took my first solo cruise

*  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *

Covering my face to hide the blush of new love

Soaked in tears after heartbreak

Held gently in love as we finally said I do

*  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *

Grasped tightly as I pray begging for forgiveness each night

I stare, uncomprehending these hands of time
