I wrote this poem at a very tough time in my life. My mother was my best friend, mother and my everything and she left this world far too early destroyed by her own demons. I love you mom

Last Breath

I watch the trees go speeding by,
I feel the night slowly die.

I can hear her voice speak to me,
and feel her spirit blind to see.

An unexpected ghostly sight,
Another forever throbbing bite.

Aching pain upon my heart,
Envisioning life to come apart.

Moments and memories seem to end,
Heart and soul will never mend.

One more gasp for salty air,
Wave crashing into the glare.

The fragile touch of a hand,
Ashes melting into the sand
