Waiting, it seems like that's all I ever do. I waited, dreaded the day he would have to leave me. I waited for that call that would let me know he arrived safely. I waited, tried to carry life on as normal as possible. Not only for me, but for our family. I waited and watched our children grow up without him, right before my eyes. I waited for that one day I would see him again. That day was finally here. I waited through the traffic, waited through the lines, and waited outside the large door that could open at any time. It felt as if i had waited a lifetime. Finally, I saw the green camoflouge and the brown combat boots emurge. My American hero. When our eyes meet, it's like i've fallen in love all over again. I wait for that short run to be over, so i can embrace him once more. The wait is finally over.
