Imaginary Bug

By Ana Fay

At first you feel it, so of course now you have to believe it’s there. And from all your prior knowledge of it, you fear it, so you hesitate to look at it. So you act on your fears and proceed to slap it, thinking that you’ve done yourself some good. And now you’re ready to face it because you’ve done what you thought you were supposed to do with it. And so you look at it and you see it and it’s there. Unfortunately, you have come to find that it is merely a piece of lint or dust. And what have you gotten from this entire experience? A slap on the wrist.
