RUNNING THE GAUNTLET the edge of life it's always the edge running itself on end to be filled with integrity and purpose to be blind sided by faith immutable the demons thump immutable the demons leap and out of the corner of your eye the wreckage always pitiable the storm clouds always leading in a back sliding glance to tremors always illuminate the zone to which the fallen nibbling away at your heals an intricate woven nothingness awaits all cast away at a moment's glance and a piercing glare in twilights ruin that left you blind for a moment the point at which all life teams and is spawned infected from the root it evaporates into nonsense this the chosen variable point and we looked on and on and discovered a path too beaten and rugged the devils mask and cloven hooves await with their pitchfork where gloom erodes in the distance and in a quiet hum drum gasp of air the distance is revealed somehow too long too far to traverse upon a plain of nothingness and despair branded as abnormal in a fleeting glance I found you crying in a corner wriggling in despair the seer and sage finally came to terms with a closing eye lid a grimace to the oncoming tempest a shrug of the shoulders a formidable opponent a reckoning of the ages and then who is to care if you buried your talent deep in the earth before breath stealing interlopers the quest was fortuitous and by and by all came with a different face a different form or stand point it was there and it gave itself as a gift to the source of blood lust and if any were found languishing in stasis their bridge half formed it wretched forward trying to ride the waves anyway and their estranged constant crashing
