My darling little girl,
You are more precious than a diamond or a pearl.
Last night when you prayed child,
It was heaven itself that you dialled,
And that is why I am here today,
To show you where I went when I had to go away.

My time on Earth was now through,
And although it was very hard to leave you,
God himself had asked me to fly,
Up with the angels in the night sky.
Around me they wrapped their glowing wings of white,
And within seconds we had taken flight.

We soured above mountains high,
And played with the birds in the bright sky.
They took me to a beautiful place,
Where the angels dance like ballerinas with grace.
The animals there can all talk,
And people who were once in wheelchairs can now walk.

There are no times, no minutes, nor hours,
I sometimes spend my days in meadows picking wild flowers,
Or sometimes I will chat to ducks and mice,
Remember our old cat Bella; I’ve spoken to her at least twice.
At the bottom of every hill there is a babbling brook,
Take my hand dear child, and just for a while you can have a look.

With just one thought we can go anywhere,
Play with a monkey, or hug a real bear,
Swim with a dolphin, or swing on a star,
Slide down a rainbow, or tickle a bug from within a jam jar.
Let your imagination run free,
It will take you to magical places, that’s the key

Now I bring you back to your bed,
I often watch you sleeping as you hug little Ted,
Sometimes I visit you in your dream,
Remember the one where we ate a mountain of Ice-Cream.
As you close your eyes to sleep it’s time for me to go,
But before I do there is something else I want you to know.

I am the wind that kisses your face,
I’ll give you the courage to run in the race.
I am the sun that dries your tears,
I’ll give you the strength to face your fears.
I am the sparkle in your smile,
I’ll give you guidance in every mile.
I am the song in your laughter,
I’ll give you protection now and ever after.

One thing more I’d like you to do,
A request I ask of you.
Live your life to the full,
Never let a single day be dull.
In years to come when you are old and grey,
When it is your time I’ll take you to the angels to play.

Remember that my love lives on, and so does my care,
Speak to me, my daughter, I’ll always be there.
But for now whenever you see a dancing white light,
Remember it is me your Mum, checking you’re alright.
God Bless, Sleep Well and Good Night.
