The last part of my short story "Vacant Heart." I tried to upload it all on one thing, but it was too long, so here is the last part.

"You put it there?!" I shout, shocked. Mom just laughs again, and nods her head. "Yeah. I noticed that someone had gotten into your father's things, and I knew it wasn't him, and the only other people who have access to them, are you and Eddie, so in the early hours of that morning, I placed it on the foot of your bed, just to kind of give you a hint." She plays with my hair. "So, you're not mad?" I ask, confused as hell.

"Baby, you're almost sixteen years old. These things happen to girls your age, so I trust you to make the right decision when these things do happen. Am I pleased that you are screwing a guy? I won't support it, that's for sure, but I trust you to make that decision because I know you know what is right. And it means the world to me that you had the nerve to tell me." I kind of start to laugh, and then we hug. It's a long hug, and I like it.

"And sweetie," Mom says as we hug.

"Yes?" I reply, my face buried deep into her shoulder

"I love you, too." All I can do now is smile.

EDDIE - January 15th, 2015

I kind of like this family. Okay, okay, I'll admit it. I love this family. They treat me like I am part of the family, and not some extra who isn't wanted. Sarah told Mrs. Hall that we were dating, and she is okay with it. Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus! I don't know if she has told Mr. Hall yet, but at this point, I don't really care. Hell, even Leon doesn't pick on me as much anymore. I don't know if it is the fact that I scared him shitless that night when he refused to take his bath, but I don't care.

For the first time in forever, I finally feel like I belong.

For the first time in forever, I finally feel like I am at home.

EPILOGUE

EDDIE - February 13th, 2015

Sarah and I are officially on our first date. We're at one of the many movie theatres in Denver, and we are sitting in the lobby, waiting for the line to shorten some.

"Eddie," Sarah asks me, and takes ahold of my hand, "how much do you love me?" What an awkward question. "Baby, I love you to the moon and back, more than I love watching The Walking Dead, and more than extra cheese pizza."

She smiles, and I kiss her. "I love you too, Eddie." she says after the kiss ends. "That is all I needed to hear."

And with that, we stand up, and walk into the theatre to see the first showing of the opening movie: "Fifty Shades of Grey."

This is a really nice short story. Um. There were quite a few typos so I highly recommend looking back over it. I forgot where all the typos were but I remember that there were a lot of them. It was a really nice short story. Very nice. Um. One question though. I'm pretty sure adopted and foster siblings aren't exactly allowed to date. I'm really sure that tat's against foster care rules or something. They mentioned that on The Fosters. Either way, it was a really nice short story. I really enjoyed the read and yeah. Very nicely done. It was funny how Erin wanted to date Edward so badly but Sarah kept all the details to herself. Edward's first period teacher was such a bitch. Oh my gosh. What the fuck was her problem? Did she forget her daily ton of coffee? Man. I don't want a teacher like that in high school. I can't even imagine having a teacher like that. How rude? That's almost like harassment or something. My goodness. How can someone like that be allowed to teach? I wonder how fake she acts in front of the principle.. Anyways, great short story. I would have loved to see it in a novel but it was very nice. I feel like it was really really long though. Eh. Oh well. Great short story either way.

Thank you so much! I know that there were ALOT of mistakes, but that is just because I type so fast that I don't really go back and check, though. I am actually gonna try writing it into a novel, this is just my first attempt. Thank you for your feedback! It means a lot to me! Check out my other writing if you can!

A really sweet story. I love the humor you put in there cause Eddie was really a funny guy with funny observations. Glad it ended happily for him, I thought he was going to be sent back to the foster home, especially in having a relationship with Sara.
