Love was lost
(Mistakes were made from the detectives point of view.)

Chapter 1: Esra
He looked at his watch - 4AM. He slowly knocked on the door. He heard someone move so he knew someone was inside. He waited for a couple of minutes before a young lady opened the door. She was dressed in Pink Pyjamas and a nice pair of pink slippers. She had light pink hair and a beautiful figure. She was about five foot nine and very good looking. She looked like the shy kind of person. As she opened the door, her facial expression changed, she smiled a tiny bit. He was struck with a feeling of deep intensity while he looked at this beautiful female in front of him.
"Hello -- Esra?" he said.
"Hello. How do you know my name?" asked Esra in response - her facial expression changing once more, she looked scared.
"You're going to have to come with me, I'm Detective Ross." he said.
Her scared emotion was still on her face as she walked out, wearing her pyjamas and slippers, before getting into the back of his car.
"So, what have I done wrong?" she asked, confused.
Detective Ross hesitated for a moment.
"There was a murder shortly after 2:15am this morning and we're going to have to ask you some questions back at the station" he replied.
Esra's facial expression changed once more, she looked scared and confused. She sat in the back, silent as she watched the Detective drive back towards the city.
"Who... who was murdered?" she asked, a shocked expression on her face.
"One of the local shop owners, Mr. Sajid" he replied quite loudly.
Esra sat silent once more in the back of the car. The detective looked at her slowly. He could tell that she felt a tiny bit awkward or uncomfortable. As the car pulled to a stop, Esra got out first to strect her legs before following Detective Ross into the station, looking nervous. She took a seat inside of the interrogation room and waited.
"I'm going to go and ask her the questions, Captain." Detective Ross exclaimed, looking at Captain Mallard.
"That's fine." Captain Mallard replied.
The Detective walked into the interrogation room,
"We're just going to ask you a few questions, sit back and relax..."
Her face said it all.

 Chapter 2: Interrogation
As Esra sat there, the detective tried to hold in what he was thinking.
"I love you. You're beautiful. Will you go to dinner with me?" he thought to himself
The detective asked her the one question he knew she was dreading.
"Where were you tonight at 2:15am?"
She hesitated -- which was a clear sign to the detective that she was nervous, maybe guilty?
"Esra? Answer the questions, please." The detective said
"I was at home - alone" Esra said, her head pointed to the ground, guilty conscience or just obvious nervousness?
"Okay. Did anyone see you that night or did you see any mysterious actions when you went to Mr. Sajid's shop?"
"I never went to the shop, Detective." She replied, hastily.
"That's funny, because the CCTV caught a girl with your description about thirty minutes before the death of Mr. Sajid." He said, suspicions running through his mind.
Esra froze once more, confusing the Detective.
"I went to the shop for some milk but I saw nothing suspicious, then I walked home and went to bed." Esra said, shakily.
"Alright. You wait here and I'll return soon." The Detective exclaimed.
The Detective walked out of the room silently. As he left the room, he went into the next room,
"Captain Mallard - Have we got any statements?"
Captain Mallard turned around,
"An old woman who lives near Esra saw her at home at 2:15"
The detective walked back in to the interrogation room and sat back down silently for about twenty seconds.
"Your alibi checks out." The Detective said after the silence slowly died down. "You're free to go."
Esra stood up and smiled at the detective. As they walked out of the room together, the detective showed her out,
"I'll drop you home."
"Thanks" Esra replied. "Weird question, but are you free tomorrow for dinner?"
The detective looked at her. He put his hand on her face and smiled,
"Give me a time and a place." He exclaimed - excite being the only feeling he had at this time.
She smiled and they got in the car. It was a silent drive home and it took less time than the Detective expected.
She got out of the car, flashed one final smile towards the Detective and walked into her home. The detective sat in the driver's seat and thought to himself,
"I can't wait for dinner, I hope this works out."
He drove off, silently, a giant grin on his face...

 Chapter 3: Dinner
The Detective drove slowly down the road towards Esra's house. He was snapped out of his daydream by the ringing of his phone. When he picked up, he was surprised who was calling.
"Mum?" he asked
"Hello, son. The woman you're investigating is guilty."
She hung up. The detective was confused as he pulled up to her house. He stepped out of the car and walked into Esra's house. He could hear her talking to someone, but after that phone call, he couldn't help but to eavesdrop. He stood at the top of the stairs.
"You know, you and Mr. Sajid."
He knew that voice, that was the ex-convict Peter Johnson.
"Don't mention it, I've got a detective coming around, he's taking me out."
"So they don't know you did it?"
"No, they don't know I killed him," The detective was shocked. "And I don't plan for them to find out."
The detective walked back downstairs and out of the door. He knocked and walked in again.
"Hello?" he shouted.
"Upstairs!" Replied Esra.
The detective walked upstairs, feeling light headed and walked into Esra's room.
"You look beautiful, shall we go?"
He caught Peter glance at him and give him a dirty look.
"Sure." Esra replied.
As they walked out, the detective turned his radio on.
They got in the car and the detective started driving.
"You're going the wrong way." Esra said, confused.
"I heard you upstairs, I'm sorry but you're under arrest."
Esra sat back, shocked and upset.
"O-Okay."
Esra looked like she had given up.

Chapter 4: Police Station
They pulled up to the police station and Esra stepped out. The detective handcuffed her and led her to the intterogation room.
"Not many people enter this room twice."
They walked past Captain Mallard and the detective looked and nodded at him.
"We got the culprit." He said, heartbroken.
As they went into the interrogation room, Esra and the detective both sat down.
"Why did you lie?" The detective asked.
"Because... I love you." she said.
"I'm sorry, but you can't lie when it comes to this, Esra."
"I know but I knew I'd go down, and I never knew if I'd meet you again."
The detective froze and smiled a bit.
"I would of waited for you, even if it was forever."
Esra smiled as she moved in for a kiss. The detective kissed her back as they had their first, and only passionate kiss. Esra put her hands out,
"Lead me to the cells, Detective."
As they walked to the cells, Esra said one thing,
"When I was younger, about 17, I met a guy called Jordan Ross, we dated for 3 years and then we broke up. You're the first person I've met since him and I don't want to meet anyone else."
The detective laughed,
"That's a nice story. Your sentencing will begin tomorrow, I'm sorry."
As she stepped into the cells, she sat down and her eyes closed, she was tired and today's events broke her. She slowly drifted into the world of imagination and dreams. As the detective left, he went and sat with Captain Mallard,
"I'm in love with her, Captain."
"I'm sorry, but you got emotionally involved with a suspect, I'm suspending you effective immediately." Captain Mallard exclaimed, no sympathy.
The Detective smiled and walked back towards the cells...

Chapter 5: The Cells.
The Detective opened the door and saw Esra jump up.
"Detective?" Esra asked.
The detective said nothing and grabbed her hand. He ran with her through the police station and out of the front doors, Captain Mallard following right behind them.
"Don't do this detective!" he shouted.
"I'm sorry, Captain. I quit." The Detective said and laughed
Esra smiled as she ran into the car. The detective drove off, going over the speed limit.
"Esra. That story that you told me yesterday, it struck a nerve in me. I couldn't see you go down, because I love you too." he exclaimed.
"You do?" she asked.
"Of course I do!" he said, confidently.
Esra smiled and sat back in the seat,
"But why do all of this for me?"
"Because when I was 16, I met an awesome girl and I threw the chance away after 3 years. I couldn't throw away yet another chance."
Esra sat up, instantly.
"Detective?"
He looked back,
"Call me Jordan."
Esra gasped.
"You're.. You're Jordan!?" sh

Esra didn't know what to say. Jordan looked at her and couldn't stop looking because of the beauty he was viewing. Esra panicked suddenly.
"Watch ou-"
There was a loud crash and the car flipped onto it's side. Jordan smashed his head against the horn and sat back up. Jordan sat in the front, breathing heavily and looked back, the window was smashed and Esra was bleeding from her head.
"Esra? Are you okay?"
There was no response and Jordan panicked calling for help. There was a deep and sudden breath from the back. Jordan kicked the front window and picked Esra up. He climbed out before pulling her out. As she lay there on the ground, Jordan cried. Jordan kissed her on the lips when he suddenly and surprisingly felt her kiss back.
"Esra! Stay with me."
