The heart waited and is still waiting.

Days are long and nights never end

The wait is continuous and does not mend.

The emotions took control and made life rough

Heart suffered a blow as was treated like a slough.

Thus, the mind acted as a rescuer and took the control,

It explained the heart to move on, irrespective of the hole.

Now the hope stood again and was ready for the war

The mind locked all the feelings permanently inside the drawer.

The question to heart was, “How would you function without these feelings?”

And it said, “I can never be the same anyhow with any emotions and dealings”.

Time entered the game and was now to play its part

But heart had a big problem of “Till death do us apart”.

Days and Situations kept on changing,

Everything seemed better now and ranging.

Flashbacks were a common phenomenon but the mind focused on future,

Regardless of the direction, painful music still played in the heart with a suture.

People around tried to explain and then lost the battle

They mocked the emotions and related them to prattle.

The heart was silent without any explanations to be given,

It was still happy waiting deep inside without being driven.

And thus a fact was stated, “A heart is like an infant and the mind is like a mother”

Though she is cautious always, but the baby still gets hurt one after another.

It simply does mean that; let your heart move like the little one,

The mind should not make fuss out of “Everything said and done”.

Thus the elements of hope and wait are still going strong,

Be proud to have a heart like that though people tag you wrong.

The heart as infant,
mind as mother- I liked this concept.
Very true! So we got to respect both.

Very well-penned,
the battle/prattle rhyme was really nice.

Inspirational poems,
have a message underneath.

Regards,
RK
