THE WICKED FAIRY

Once upon a time in the depths of fairyland lived a wicked fairy named Anabelle. She liked stealing things from young fairies and animals. Everyone feared and detested her. She hid the stolen things in a mud cave somewhere in the forest.

One day while flying around she spotted a monkey and a sparrow playing hide and seek around a pond. It was the sparrow who was ‘it’. The monkey climbed up a tree to hide. Anabelle flew down and snatched up the monkey. She had kidnapped him !! She took him and flew all the way to her mud cave. When the monkey realized that he had been kidnapped he started crying uncontrollably. “Shut up” snapped Anabelle at the monkey. “Leave me. I wanna go home”, whined the monkey. He threw tantrums. Anabelle got irritated and flew off.

Meanwhile the sparrow the monkey was playing with got worried. He had searched high and low for the monkey but to no avail. He even called out to him to tell him that he was going home but he got no answer. “May be he has gone home” thought the sparrow “or may be he was kidnapped”. Frightened by the latter the sparrow flew around the forest searching for his friend. He couldn’t see the mud cave as the wicked fairy had built it carefully hidden from view. He searched all day, all night calling out “Where are you, Kron, where are you?” (Kron was the monkey’s name)

The next day when the fairy returned to her mud cave she found the cave as scattered piles of mud. The protection spell she had put on the mouth of the cave which prevented anyone from entering or exiting now no longer remained as the mud cave had melted. It had so happened that after she had left last evening in about an hour or so it started pouring heavily. The rain water loosened the mud and the cave broke cum melted at he same time. Kron, now free ran to his friend.

The next day when the fairy returned to her mud cave she found it not as a cave but as scattered piles of mud. The sparrow’s use o spend the night as his own house was very far.

The sparrow had been delighted to see Kron “Where were you? What were you doing?” he fired questions at Kron. “I was kidnapped by Anabelle the wicked fairy…………….” and out poured his story. “I am sure she will return there in the morning. I have a plan to capture her for good, said Kron.

In the morning as Anabelle checked the ruins of her hiding place out flew two fairy cops from behind the trees and caught firm hold of her. Then flew out the fairy queen. The sparrow and Kron had gone to the fairy queen at night and told them their story. She had promised to be at the cave sight in the morning with the cops.

The fairy cops took Anabelle to the fairy jail “You have done many crimes and these two animals finally caught you for us. Your punishment is to scrub the toilets of all the goblins everyday of the week” said the fairy queen sharply, turning up her nose in disgust towards Anabelle. “Oh no! Hang me but don’t make me scrub goblin toilets” groaned Anabelle.

The sparrow and the monkey were given a reward of 10,000 coins of gold each, as Anabelle was a wanted criminal.

The sparrow and the monkey lived happily ever after, becoming rich while Anabelle spent the rest of her life scrubbing dirty goblin toilets, for free !! !! !!
