I slurped the grape soda off the top of the can and sighed. Summer vacation was winding down and coming to an end. I was sitting on my cousin's front porch steps, moving my skateboard back and forth with my right foot when he came running through the small yard behind the house. He had shaggy, black hair and deep, brown eyes. He jumped and caught the football that was thrown to him.

He looked at me and I, being the blonde that I am, was listening to my MP3 Player. I saw his mouth move and then, he started to walk away.

"Come again?" I asked.

But he was alreay gone.

I went home that night and thought about what he'd said. I mean, what did he say? He could have said anything and I didn't hear it! I picked up my sketchpad and drew myself as a cartoon, talking to him in various scenarios. In one, I was skating by him and didn't hear what he said, in another, my shoe was untied and I fell, causing him to laugh and walk away, and in the last, he was handing me a daisy. I fell asleep with the lights on and my face on my sketchpad.

"Wake up!" my little sister cried. "Wake up, Kat! You're going to miss the bus!"

I shot out of bed like a torpedo and threw on my favorite Breathe Carolina shirt and purple skinny jeans that didn't match. I brushed my long, blonde hair and slipped on my sneakers. Grabbing my schedule and bag, I flew out the door and to the bus stop. To everybody's dismay, the bus didn't come until ten til and we were there at seven thirty.

I plopped down in a seat and turned up the volume on my MP3 Player. I looked out the window and watched the trees fly by. The bus pulled up in front of the school and I ran off and up the stairs of the school. I walked into the cafeteria and looked around for my best friend who was nowhere to be seen. But I did see the guy from before. He was sitting with the, ugh, 'popular' people. One group I didn't belong to and never will because I was too strange.

I walked by his table and tried to dodge a bucket of chartreuse paint. I tripped over my own two feet and landed face first in the bucket. My hair was sticking to my face and everybody was laughing. I lifted my head up and he was standing over me, extending a hand to help me up. I grabbed his hand and tried to stand up but slipped on the paint. I fell backwards and pulled him with me. The bright green paint speckled his hair and is Zoo York shirt. We stood up and shook his head at my feet.

"I thought I told you to tie that shoe?" he asked in the deepest voice I'd ever heard.

"That's what you said?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'm Levi."

"Kat."

Later that day, I found out he was in my gym class.

"Hey, Kat." Levi called. "Want to run laps?"

"Sure!" I replied.

So, there I was, running laps with the cutest guy in school and, out of nowhere, I fall! He helped me up and stood there kind of awkwardly. It was then that I'd realized that I was standing on his foot!

"So...after school do you want to go play tennis?" he asked.

"I'd love to."

After school, we walked to the tennis court and picked up a couple of rackets. We started to play and I hit the ball over the fence behind him.

"I got it." he said.

He started to climb the fence which was a foot taller than my six-foot frame and got stucknear the top.

"Can somebody help this little guy?" he asked.

I walked over to the fence and started climbing it. I was never really good at climbing and my shirt was riding up. I'd reached the top and was climbing down the other side when my bra strap got caught. It was a halter strap and it snapped in two. My bra slides off me and I'm just holding onto the fence with my bra on the ground and my shirt almost three-quarters of the way up my torso!

I let go, thinking that since my feet were almost stuck I would stay put, and pulled my shirt down. Well, my feet were in the same hole and I fell off the fence. I landed on my back, getting the wind knocked out of me. So, he's waiting and watching. His eyes as wide as they could get and I realized that my shirt still wasn't down.

And my shoe was untied again.
