Sometimes it sounds like the rain is talking to me with all the whisper-y sounds it makes. This is just an idea, and I wanted to see if anybody found it interesting and whether or not I should continue with it.

"Hey…Wake up."

I opened my eyes and blinked twice. I felt a raindrop hit my head hard and the cool water seep into the roots of my hair. Shivers went down my spine at the sensation. I found myself under a fallen tree that had developed into a sort of cave. I had come here earlier to cry and forget, but I must have fallen asleep before the rain started.

"Hey!"

I turned my head in an attempt to find the source of the sound. Another raindrop slipped down my nose.

"Hello?" I waited for an answer.
“Who’s there?”

The rain started to fall harder, and then died down again.

"We are here."

My heart started to beat faster, “who are you?”

"We are the tears of the skyyyyy."

It was a sort of whisper, and very drawn out at the end.

I knew I was coherent. I was awake for sure. Another drop dripped down the side of my ear and settled inside of it. The whisper was louder now.

"We are the rain."
