We’re we sitting in the back of your dad’s truck, laying a top of about five layered thick blankets for comfort. Watching the bonfire flames roar, and crack like fireworks on the 4th of July. I think it’s funny how everyone thinks we date because we do everything together and we care for each other, and spend our mornings, afternoons, and nights together doing the same thing- which is sit on the tailgate and listen to the night train.

In fact, what you don’t know is that I love you. I’ve loved you for the past five years that you have been in my life. I don’t know if you feel the same way about me, I am too shy to even show any sort of love affection to you for the fear of denial.

One night, as we sat on the tailgate waiting on the train to go by, you got up and said “I’ll be right back” I just responded with a simple “OK” not even wondering what you were going to do. About five minutes past and I wondered where you could’ve of gone, we were out in the outskirts of town, the last town was 15 minutes away, but why would he go. Finally, after five more minutes passed I hear my favorite song go on… it’s my favorite song; of course I’m going to sing along to it… “Hey girl you make me wanna write a song, sit you down and sing it to you all night long…” All of a sudden I hear his deep, beautiful voice that I love to hear say “I’ve always wanted to let it all out, tell you the truth about the way you make me feel,” I couldn’t say anything, for I was speechless. “You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me, you are absolutely beautiful, you love to do the same things as me, and whenever I see you I feel this weird gut feeling telling me to tell you the truth, I love you”
