~~RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING! The alarm was screeching and I lazily woke up to go in the shower. I was first regretting myself to wake up but then I realized that this was the best day of my life! Today was the day where I and 9 other people got specially selected to go out in the mysterious part of the Pacific Ocean and basically observe what is happening in the area due to a lot of fish disappearances in the ocean and the unusual activity in the area of the ocean. And here’s the thing, it isn’t like some sort of 2-3 day trip! This trip is like an 8-9 month trip so we aren’t going in some type of rowboat! We are going to be in a huge ship with cameras and radars and all the fancy gadgets and all these nice bedrooms for us to sleep in! This may sound like a crazy job to do and pretty much risk your life but am I scared? NO! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I can’t slip away from it! The thing that gives me a little pressure is that out of 2.4 million people, the scientists chose me and 9 other people to do this job in the Pacific Ocean. The scientists are pretty much depending on us to get good information for them to research more on that area. I was really happy to receive the letter from the scientists that said that I have exceeded their standards and that I was accepted to a 8-9 month trip in the pacific ocean! I put my alarm on 4 30 AM so I can just shower and clean myself before going on a huge trip to the middle of the ocean!
After my shower, I noticed that I had to take a bus in less than 15 minutes so I just put tooth paste in my mouth and spit it out and exploded out of the door like a volcano! I quickly grabbed my milk and cereal and noticed the time, 7 minutes! I instead chugged down the milk from the carton like I was in some sort of contest and just grabbed some cereal in a paper cup to eat in the bus. I then dumped some mini bagels with some butter in a paper bag and I just kicked the door open and ran like I was Usain Bolt to the bus station half a mile away. I then noticed that I only had a minute left for the bus to come so I just made my pace faster and I didn’t even care that some of my cereal bits were falling out of the paper cup. I then saw the bus stop with the bus slowly coming to a stop and opening the door for the people to walk in but the line wasn’t that big! So I just used some of my last breaths to run as fast as I could to the stop and I was just 10 feet away from the bus and the bus driver didn’t notice me running for my life so she just closed the door and I just jumped as far as I could and right as the door was closing, my hand stopped it from closing as I let a huge SLAM to the ground! Not realizing what I just did, I slowly stood up and gave the bus lady my bus pass and she looked at me very weirdly as I walked down to take a seat. I was so tired, I bet I could drink more than 500 gallons of water at once!
As the bus started moving, I quickly took my bottle of water I was going to save for the sea ride and chugged the whole bottle up. Then the person who sat right across from me and asked, “ Hey aren’t you that guy who is going to the middle of the ocean for 8 months?” and I was confused by the question because how would she know about my ocean trip and instead of saying anything, I just slowly nodded. Then, everyone in the bus just ran up to me and asked for an autograph and I signed a paper or their personal belongings and they returned back to their seat in the bus and I was just dazed by how much people knew me about going on this trip! Am I that famous now? An hour later, the bus arrived at the scientist lab right next to the dock. As I walked out of the bus, everyone in it yelled, “GOOD LUCK” When I found the entrance to the lab, I grabbed my leftover cereal and grabbed my huge duffel bag and entered the lab.
There was a person in the entrance desk and he asked me,” What do you need help with?” I then told him my name and told him what I was here for. He then asked me to show me my acceptance paper and my ID and I showed him both. He then kindly showed me to the way to the conference room where I entered to see an Einstein looking guy standing up and shaking my hand very happily but very firmly. “Hi I am Dr. Daubernoodle! I am a scientist here who studies oceanography” said the Scientist. “I am very glad that you can join us on this trip to the middle of the ocean! We will begin once the other nine people coming with you on this trip will arrive.” So we waited for an hour or two and then all FINALLY all nine people arrived in the conference room. Dr. Daubernoodle quickly greeted all of us and he started to explain what we were going to be doing for the trip and what we will have to do in the ship and the activities we could do on the ship during our free time.  He said that this is going to be a pretty long trip so he said to specifically use our food wisely during our stay in the ship. After he said that, I started to get a little nervous because I wondered what would happen if we ran out of food…  We then heard a loud HOOOOOOORN going off. The horn sounded like a walrus moaning. Then, Dr. Daubernoodle led us outside of the conference room and we followed the scientist along the hallway and we were just quietly walking, following him. Then, there was a huge metal door, the scientist opened it and to our surprise, there were packs of reporters chatting and then suddenly when we appeared, the reporters started blabbering their butts off asking us TONS of questions about the trip but I just waved at the camera and followed Dr. Daubernoodle. After all the reporters were cleared by security, I could actually see the ship I was going to live in for 8 months and MAN that is a huge ship! I wondered, Why such a big ship for only nine people?  I then realized that there was going to be all the waiters and the captains entering the ship and then I realized that it wasn’t going to be only me and nine other people. Then, when we were right next to the ship, I was just amazed by the size of the ship. Then, the scientist said, “Good luck” and let us board the ship. Right before I entered the ship, I waved goodbye to the land I wasn’t going to see for 8 months and boarded the ship. The ship was all out luxury! There were all of these fancy gadgets we were going to use during our stay. The bedrooms were the best! My bedroom had a queen sized bed, a huge window for the view, and a dream mattress on the bed, and best of all, between my crew’s rooms, there’s a hallway and it is surrounded by a huge aquarium so you can watch some fish on your way to a crew member’s room! This is probably going to be the best trip in my life!
15 days into the trip, we arrived at the location we wanted to be and as I looked outside, The Ocean looked way different, it had billions and trillions of dead fish floating on the water and the water had a very greenish look than blue. If you just looked at the water, you wouldn’t even think it was the ocean. I then saw one of our members puke and that was when I blacked out…
I woke up by my captain screaming and running away like he was going to get eaten by something. I jumped up and the waiters and everyone else were running away. But where was my crew? I slowly walked upstairs and there was wind howling and water throwing itself on the ship. I nearly got myself washed away but then I just held a firm grip on the pole handle. Then I saw my crew members, looking like they are psychopaths and they just ripped the co captains arm off and picked him up and threw him into the water and the crew members were breathing heavily. Their clothes were ripped, they had blood dripping on their faces, and their teeth were like the teeth of a walrus. I was scared to death when made a cold hard stare at me. I didn’t know what else to do so I ran back inside and went for the radio transmitter but the crew members just yanked me by the collar and threw me on the ground. I tried to fight back but the tallest person of our crew, Sean held me back by one leg and the 3 others held me by the arms and leg. Then, 5 other crew members jumped on me and opened their mouth ready to eat me but before that he said, “Jimmy?”
I woke up to see all my crew members surrounding me. I asked them what happened and Andrew replied, “Dude, you passed out for at least 2 hours! We poured cold water on you, and nothing happened! So we just waited” The waiters were all offering me food and some water to drink so I took some spaghetti and some coke and returned to my room. I was wondering how I passed out and I just decided to take a rest because I was too tired to work.
I woke up with all the emergency lights on and the captain screaming on the intercom. I didn’t even realize what was happening and then I looked out of the window and it showed me that we were underwater! I was just thinking to myself that this was just a dream but I wasn’t even waking up even when I was slamming my head on the desk! Then all of a sudden, the captain’s screaming voice started to gargle and then, my window broke and all the fish that were dead in the night seemed to all come to life and the water flooded towards me! I didn’t know what to do so I just started to swim out but then the fish blocked my way so I didn’t even know if I was going to live or not so I just curled up into a ball and waited…
I woke up on a shore of a beach and I was just dazed by what happened so I just laid down on the sand and wondered, what next? I then wondered why the sand was so scaly and after standing up, I noticed that I was in no beach, but on top of a HUGE amount of fish! I then noticed that my crew members were nowhere to be seen. I started crying and regretted myself for doing a nine month trip to the Pacific Ocean.
I then wondered how the fish that were dead came back to life and broke through the window of our ship. I then felt my stomach growling and I had no other choice but to grab a fish and eat it RAW. The raw fish was too disgusting to eat whole but I kept reminding myself that this was going to be the food for most probably the food I was going to eat for the rest of my life. I tried to enjoy the food but I couldn’t enjoy it.
I looked at the ocean around me and I was just shocked by how many fish there was and wondered how this much of fish could end up here and not anywhere else. It was starting to get into nighttime and right as the sun completely set, a fish jumped and it was more alive than ever and then, all the fish started jumping and they came back to life and they were causing the currents to get big and the fish I was standing on came to life but they couldn’t escape the pile of other fish. The pile didn’t seem to get damaged so I slowly went to sleep.
I woke up to be floating on the water and not in the pile so I just laid there floating and I just fell back asleep…
I was awoken by a very loud noise and I realized I wasn’t floating on the water but in the solid ground of a helicopter. There were paramedics started to ask me questions and I told them about the trip and Dr. Daubernoodle and I told them about the ship and how it got wrecked. They asked me about the ship and I told them everything about it and the paramedics looked at me weirdly and said, “Sir, the ship you were riding in disappeared 50 years ago and there has never been a scientist ever named Dr. Daubernoodle in our records!” I waited for them to laugh but they looked pretty dead serious. I was looking at them, wide eyed but when I returned to San Francisco, I looked up on the internet for the ship I rode in and Dr. Daubernoodle and what the paramedics said was true. I stared in disbelief and wondered for the rest of my life how this can happen…~~RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING! The alarm was screeching and I lazily woke up to go in the shower.
