I no longer belong to this land,

the land which nurtured me,

upheld me, edified me,

and at last abandoned by me.

sense of abominable lull

spread across the vista.

narrow streets do not exist,

old paths now lead to new places,

immigrants replacing local masses,

but small shops still reside.

the roads once wide and plane,

now full of potholes,

prominent walls now getting sour,

often do they leak.

the domes which seemed grand,

now reduced to small piece of land,

their doors weak & wobbly,

now shorter than my length.

few faces known, some unknown to me,

toddlers are now grown-ups,

their innocence strangled within.

love has shrunk,

bonds almost broken,

they bawl & brag a lot,

but now they hardly meet.

my land is in comatose,

not conscious enough to recognize me,

as if I'm from a different world,

withdrawing all the relations,

that do not connect with me.

I no longer belong to this land,

the land which nurtured me,

upheld me, edified me,

and at last abandoned by me.
