Deafening Silence

No more pings, no more texts
No more: “can’t wait to see you next”
You were here and now you’re gone
Only silence from night to dawn

Memories play with my imagination
For the perfect words were said
And the deepest love was made
As you anticipated my every reaction

I believed you’d never leave
So I gave in whole-heartedly
At my cell phone I sit and stare
Its deafening silence I cannot bare
