Two roads we are

Heading towards north

And a common destination.

Long to merge at some point,

But miles to go.

Wearied with pits,

Dug deep,

Checkered.

That’s how I am.

Some taken care of,

Some stranded.

I identify with the latter.

Higher authorities determine my condition,

Although

I wish to take charge of myself.

Illumined at places,

But dark most of the times,

I become a possible shelter for crimes.

Parents!

Light me up.

Take care of me.

Allow me to be one with the road moving parallel

Who became my companion midway,

Bore with me all the hardships.

And then I shall see no dead end.
