Outside my Window BY: Anna Ryme

I look out of my window,

Seeing the world how it is,

How it calmly ends its day

With the silent descent of the sun.

I look out of my window,

Seeing some people walk by,

I saw varieties of skin colors

and I think each is beautiful.

I look out of my window,

And saw how the trees sway

With the gentle push of the breeze,

They dance with the sunlight.

I look out of my window,

And saw the birds soar above

How they open their wings and fly

How they sing the sunset lullabies.

I look out of my window,

And saw how the water rushes,

How the river water runs eagerly,

To join with the nearby ocean or sea.

I look out of my window,

And saw an enormous giant,

Looming over our land –

With clouds hovering over its head.

I sit still watching the wonderful scene,

But I remember my algebra homework,

and the papers I have to work on,

and still have to decide what blouse

I’ll wear for tomorrow.

I suddenly cough because I smelled smoke,

That come from outside from somewhere nearby.

Smoke will do me no good for I am sensitive to it,

So I closed the window and saw no more.
