I feel sad & homesick
I wrote this before the love of my life left me
Now I feel even more homesick

Unfamiliar expressions and faces

A fresh start and new beginning

Tongue twisting unlearned languages

But I’m overwhelmed and I want to come home

Sights and treasures lay undiscovered

Surrounding nature leaves me in awe

First snow atop the mountains

But I’m cold and I want to come home

Peaceful silence and comfort of solitude

All the time in the world to myself

An escape from anyone who’s wronged me

But I’m bored and I want to come home

First impressions and smiles all around

Opening up and sharing of secrets

Warmth of acceptance from strangers

But I’m scared and I want to come home

But when nothing is known and all is brand new

Looking up at the sky in the frost of the night

I know the same sky is seen by you

Maybe I’m not that far away from home

I long for you in every dream and waking hour

I feel myself growing with grief

And there’s nothing I can do in my power

I just miss you and I want to come home
