Short poem I wrote. Only took me about 15/20 minutes. It is the story of a girl that experimented with drugs at a young age and suffered a bad trip, which left her mentally ill resulting in her being admitted into a mental asylum.

I slowly float towards the ground,

driftly gently, producing no sound.

A pleasing calmness I have found,

my trip has come to an end.

I sway slightly, left to right,

my mind is overflowing with fright.

The light of day seems terribly bright,

my trip has come to an end.

So i stand, unsure of recent events,

it was all so baffling and immense.

I seem to be numb, I have lost all sense,

this substance is no longer a friend.

One awful trip has left my mind in tatters,

I can never think straight, my thoughts are scattered.

None of that necessarily matters,

the cushioned walls muffle my screams.
