The aborigine in Australia is much maligned, discriminated against, misunderstood.
This poem was written some time ago but for me it stands the test of time as the way I feel about all discrimination and also my longing to understand mystical and ancient cultures.

It touches me

your dreaming

distant echoes

streaming

whispering voices

screaming

resurging

now and then

in our consciousness

forgetfulness

admonishing

neglectful-ness

you clamour

for respect

all we offer

are regrets

^

Precious part of me

your dreaming

of perilous

ancient meaning

fierce

and fragile embers

try to hold

to please remember

faltering voices

white man’s choices

neither one of us

rejoices

^

Tell me of your

dreaming

my ignorance

redeeming

resurgent voices

gleaming

magic faces

beaming

tragic places

teeming

with what once was

^

Perpetuate yours/

our memories

(uncertainties/

agonies)

will either of us

ever see

a joyous

arms in arms

corroboree?
