sit in class

let time roll by

sit at home

occupied by life
ten minutes pass as this lecture drones on
also ten minutes pass of a girl being beaten
the same amounts of time together are prolonged
though time is flying when meals are eaten
the same 30 seconds you spend warming a meal
are the same 30 seconds it took for her skin to peel
as you sit home an hour and groan of boredom
she lies in an unidentifiable corner crying
you anticipate on your television an episode to come
all she can anticipate is gradually dying
how unfortunate it is
the luck and it's lack
takes the whitest of the whites
and paints them black
