This is a poem I have been working on.
It came to me one night as I said good night to my husband.
I sat down and put pen to paper as the emotions that were pent up inside came spilling out.
All the little words that go unspoken washed away, covered over by the more pending needs of my time as I watch my husband recover from a bad year of health problems.

Good night my love.

Good night my love

it's time to sleep

faded memories bittersweet

precious time slips by

to hold you near is my desire

a thousand and one my reasons why

in your eyes I see the sun,

moon, stars and heaven too

if thy were mine

I'd give them to you

sleep now until I wake

for if nought my heart to break

good night my love

as I retire

embers burn a fire within

cool as wine a faded kiss

your sweet love

I ought not resist
